Thoughts about life, writing, books, family . . .
As a licensed psychotherapist, I have worked with troubled children and teens since 1993, and before that as a music teacher. The primary approach I have used with my work with children in child-centered play therapy. I believe many adults do not understand the vital importance of play for children. I earned a Doctor of Psychology degree in 2011 from Ryokan College in Los Angeles, California. My Doctoral thesis was titled Treatment of an Early Childhood Anxiety Disorder Utilizing an Integrated Humanistic Approach. Much of the study was devoted to clinical literature about play and play therapy. Blogs on this site are excerpted and adapted from that completed thesis ©2011 Merrilee Nolan Gibson
